About Huntington Builds
It started with a problem.
I had a OneFinity CNC machine and kept running into the same annoyance every time I changed bits — there was no good place to put the dust boot. So I designed one. When I shared it with the OneFinity community, people started asking if they could buy it. That's where Huntington Builds began.
One solution led to another. The dust boot holder turned into quick swap plates. Then I bought a track saw, and ran into the same wall again — nowhere decent to store the rails. The 3D printed options on the market didn't impress me, and I figured I could do better. So I did. A spring-retention wall and garage door mount with no latches, no toggles, no fiddling — just lift out and drop in. When that design took off, Huntington Builds became something real.
Who's Behind This
My name is John. By day I'm a licensed professional civil engineer and construction project manager, building affordable housing in the Los Angeles and Inland Empire area. I've been doing that for about ten years and I genuinely love it.
Huntington Builds is what I do for fun. I started with a used Taz printer I found on eBay, figured out the rest as I went, and may have used early sales to accelerate a student loan payoff or two. Everything I make starts as a problem I ran into myself, and every design gets iterated until I'm actually happy with it.
Four Years. 1,300+ Orders. 5 Stars.
I've been selling on Etsy for over four years with a running 5-star average and over 1,300 orders shipped. People seem to be happy, and I work hard to keep it that way. Every product that leaves my shop in Huntington Beach, CA is something I'd be comfortable using in my own garage — because I already am.
Why I Don't Take Every Commission
People sometimes ask why I don't scale up faster or take on more custom work. The honest answer is family comes first. I have two little girls, a wonderful wife, and two furry coworkers who have strong opinions about the print schedule. Huntington Builds will grow, but not at the expense of what matters most.
If you've got a problem in your shop that you can't solve with what's out there — reach out. That's exactly how everything here got started.
